A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night Photos
She is the perpetrator, not the victim, and possesses agency and power that would not be typically reserved for her in an environment such as Bad City. In this way, the film has feminist leanings. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night takes place in "the Iranian ghost-town Bad City" and depicts the doings of "a lonesome vampire".
The Girl sits down on a sofa and plays with an apple that Att has given her instead of eating it. Atti assumes that the Girl is a washout person who wants to become a prostitute. The Girl doesn't speak at first, but then she says that Atti doesn't like her job. Atti asks her why she is following her, and the Girl replies that she knows everything about her and that Atti doesn't know what she wants anymore, and that she can't even remember really wanting something.

A joyful mash-up of genre, archetype and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave. As a lonesome young female vampire who's had to get a bit creative with the locals from time to time. Shot in black and white with slow direction and fantastic lighting this modern vampire love story gives a slightly different interpretation on the popular teenage vampire genre.
The woman’s path is to cross with Arash , a moody boy who affects a James Dean style and who has improbably made enough money from gardening jobs to afford a sensational 1950s automobile. Her veil is a type of clothing that makes her look, weirdly, as if she is floating. She encounters a brutal, heavily tattooed bully who takes her back to his apartment, thinking she is a prostitute. But the woman, cool and entirely unintimidated, reveals her teeth – and the fact that she is the predator here. Stay up-to-date on all the latest Rotten Tomatoes news! Storyline
Under the influence, he becomes disoriented, and ends up lost at night on the street. In the Iranian ghost-town Bad City, a place that reeks of death and loneliness, the townspeople are unaware they are being stalked by a lonesome vampire. An Iranian Vampire Western, shot in black&white and with a killer soundtrack... It's a love story about two tortured souls in a desolate Iranian Ghost-town called 'Bad City', where a lonely vampire is stalking the towns most depraved denizens. That it's the first Iranian vampire film is really the only thing going for it when compared to other vampire flicks. It's kind of art-house , although it has a few decent parts.
I won't spoil the film by telling details about each and every character, suffice it to say that they are well layered and complex. This film really excels in its character development and cinematography which is beautifully done and really aids the atmosphere and creates a unique style for the film. While the film really is a mash up of genres it feels much like a low key horror film with a focus on atmosphere and tone rather than gore and jump cuts. Most modern horror films employ the latter to get a very surface level rise out of the viewers, often losing the whole point in effective horror elements.

It's also an needed shot of cool back into the vampire genre. It's no secret that those iconic horror movie monsters had lost their bite long ago. This movie does a lot to help give it back. The creativity and weirdness of it all is strangely exciting.
He gives her the earrings he stole, and says that it is pity that she can't wear them. The Girl gives him a safety pinto make a hole in her ears.Arash hits the pin with his lighter and creates the hole. The Girl turns her head around and can't avoid to show her fangs in a reflex act.She controls herself and offers her other ear.
Hossein wants to inject her.Hossein pushes her onto the bed to inject her when she says she doesn't want. Hossein injects her and then he injects himself. He sobs once and hugs Atti. The film is directed and imagined by Amirpour with cinematography by Lyle Vincent. Its style is clearly inspired by spaghetti Westerns like those of Sergio Leone, featuring a mysterious, lone, antihero with a vigilante streak. However, the genre is reimagined with a female lead, and is a hybrid spaghetti Western-vampire film. As a vampire film it serves as an homage to its legacy of predecessors especially the 1922 German Expressionist film Nosferatu.
In terms of aesthetic and artistic elements, the movie works perfectly and endorses a really unique environment. In terms of behavior, "The Girl" acts as the best vampire I have ever seen on screen.
